Question:

I chose the Education Pathway for my initial DWC certification. May I use the continuing education contact hours I received from that initial course towards my recertification contact hours if I choose to Recertify by Continuing Education?

Answer:

No. Continuing education contact hours and/or CME’s must be accumulated after your initial certification date for use toward recertification.

Question:

Question:

I am going to recertify by Continuing Education. How do I submit my approved contact hours?

Answer:

(Choose the DWC Recertification Application) Once you have completed the online Recertification application and paid your fee, you will need to complete the Continuing Education Verification Record with your specific contact hour information.  Save the document and email to recertification@nawccb.org

Question:

I am going to recertify by Examination. What if I don’t pass the exam the first time? Do I have to pay again?

Answer:

If you do not pass the exam the first time, you may take it again. You have up to 4 total exam attempts before your credential expires. There is a $330 fee for each exam attempt.

If you do not pass the exam before your credential expires, you must apply to reinstate your credential by examination, which requires a $330 reinstatement fee and a $300 late fee. You have 2 years and/or 4 exam attempts from the date of expiration to pass the exam and reinstate your credential. For more information, refer to the DWC Candidate Examination Handbook.
