Subject Matter Expert (SME) Recruitment

What is a Subject Matter Expert (SME)?

A subject-matter expert (SME) is a person who has accumulated great knowledge in a particular field or topic and this level of knowledge is demonstrated by the person’s degree, licensure, and/or through years of professional experience with the subject.

How do I know if I am an “expert”?

Holding one of the NAWCO credentials demonstrates that you have advanced understanding of wound care. If you are regularly using and applying the information learned to obtain your credential, then you may be just the expert we need!

Why does NAWCO need SME’s?

SME’s help in the creation of new exams by contributing their expertise to writing exam questions, reviewing content, and providing feedback. This helps NAWCO to ensure that our examination content is relevant and up to date.

I’ve never been an SME before. Can I still participate?

Yes! NAWCO and our exam development team will train interested individuals.

I’m interested in being an SME. What do I do next?

Please send a resume/CV to admin@nawccb.org with a short note expressing your interest and we will contact you with further information.
