What is a "WCC®", Wound Care Certified practitioner?
A "WCC®" certified practitioner, is a healthcare professional who has made a
choice to advance their knowledge in wound care.  This is demonstrated by
years of experience, a desire to become certified, attending extensive wound
care training and passing a certification examination.  This knowledge base is a
voluntary personal desire to deliver the highest quality of wound care available in
the United States.
What does a "WCC®" do?

A "WCC®" has many functions related to skin and wound care management
including:
-  Review of wound treatments for effectiveness
-  Assessment of potential for healing
-  Perform risk assessment for potential skin problems
-  Review environmental and nutritional factors that may impede healing of
wounds
- Recommend treatments and supportive equipment to improve wound healing
-  Provide education regarding skin and wound care management to patients and
healthcare workers
-  Assist in wound care product selection based on individual need, cost, and
reimbursement
-  Work with other members of the health care team in the planning of overall
care to promote healing
